Vicente Salazar Appointed Principal of Paredes M.S


Dear Paredes Middle School Faculty, Students and Families,

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Vicente Salazar has been appointed by the Austin ISD Board of Trustees as the new principal of Paredes Middle School. 

Mr. Salazar currently serves as interim principal of Paredes and previously served as the assistant principal for the past three years. He has 10 years teaching experience at both Paredes and Pearce middle schools. 

Mr. Salazar earned a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology with a teaching certification, and a Master of Education degree in educational leadership, both from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Mr. Salazar will seek to listen and learn from students, staff, families and community members. He will nurture positive and productive relationships that benefit students’ needs academically, socially and emotionally. 

He has high expectations for all students, staff, families and himself. He is very passionate and believes all students can and will be successful. Mr. Salazar plans to foster an environment of lifelong learners, not only of students, but faculty and staff as well. 

Through collaboration and open communication, he will make informed decisions that will benefit the school community as a whole.

A meet and greet reception for Mr. Salazar will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30, at Paredes Middle School. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Salazar as principal of Paredes Middle School.
